Stairsteps
Belted Galloway cattle are a tourist attraction in Rockport, Maine. In the spring the cattle are grazing in a field close to the road. These three appeared to be stairsteps. I found them an interesting composition is the grass and spring foliage.
20" X 16" framed acrylic on canvas. $300
Young Artist
A young artist is as messy as an old artist. Clean hands and messy apron. She's been working hard at it. Now to clean the brushes.
Acrylic on canvas 16" X 20" $250
Lady In Black
There's always one, isn't there? She was sitting by herself. Blackberry, champagne and dark glasses. Wonder who's she texting? Will she be there long. . . . waiting?
Acrylic on canvas !8" X 18" $300
After the Rain
Boots off and no place to put the fresh cut flowers. Ah ha, the boots made a perfect spot to hold them while cleaning up and putting away the tools. Then into the house.
Acrylic on Canvas 16: X 20" $250
Check Me Out
I'd seen photos of fashion models in magazines and always thought they imitated real life. The poses and the expressions seem to relate what they are thinking. This prompted a series of paintings with this concept in mind. Here is a gal who thinks shes just marvelous. To make it more real, I added imitation pearls hanging from the neck of the painting. The pearls are on a string for fun.
It's on an 18" X 24" canvas done in acrylic. Framed and waiting to be hung. $600
Hot Stuff
Red is hot and she has the stuff. You've seen her at parties all done up and too stiff to walk around the room. Maybe just posing and waiting for company. She and "Says Who" are probably at opposite ends of the room.
Painted in acrylic on a large 24" X 36" canvas and framed. $800
Says Who?
Doesn't she remind you of one of those gals who are just too neat to be true? Seems un-approachable and likes it that way. I had a person in mind. But won't say who.
Framed on a 16" X 20" canvas painted in acrylic. $450
Always a Bridesmaid
No one in mind here. Just someone who seems to be left out of the marriage scene. Her expression shows she would rather be the bride than the bridesmaid. Maybe someday.
Painted in acrylic on 18" X 18" canvas and framed. $600
Inside Out
In an old lighthouse, you look over the water to see the light itself. Unlike most lighthouses, the house is separate from the light. Looking out the window framed in black gives an eerie feeling of detachment.
Framed 12" X 16" acrylic on canvas. $350
Dancing Daisies
It seemed these pots on display at an eclectic store in Dallas needed a little sprucing up. Standing alone, they had nothing to say. Adding the dancing daisies made it much more interesting. Occasionally I like to get away from my normal concepts and paint a semi abstract scene just to reset my thinking.
Acrylic on canvas 18" X 24" framed. $700
Spring Pansies
Travel to our favorite vacation area in Italy always has scenes that beg to be painted. The windows always have a flower display that makes a cheerful day everyday. The simplicity of a small flowering window box shows a caring person inside. Watercolor is great for traveling and painting. This was done on site.
Watercolor on paper, 8" X 10" framed. $300
Spring Breeze
In Tuscany, the open window and the window box begs for the morning breeze to come in. If you've experienced staying in an old stone house, you know when the stone heats up from the sun it gets uncomfortable and a cool breeze is most welcome.
Acrylic on canvas painted on an 11" X 14" canvas. $275
Italian Monday
It seems everyday in Italy is Monday. Clothes hang on the line on balconies wherever you go no matter the day. I like the sensation of the fresh smell of sun dried clothing. Reminds me of my youth when our clothes were hung out to dry. I love it.
11" X 14" acrylic on canvas, framed. $275
Two Whites
At a farm market, I saw a few white pumpkins separated from the orange ones. I thought them interesting and lonely. Being unusual, I liked them and snapped a photo then painted this. You can tell I like unusual things.
Acrylic on an 11" X 14" canvas. $175
